Orfit Industries has extended its orthotics product range with the OrfitransÒ Medium Soft, which is made of stronger thermoplastic material offering optimal patient comfort. The ORFITRANSÒ Medium Soft, is designed for both prosthetic transtibial (i.e. below-knee) check (or diagnostic) sockets as well as for lower limb orthoses. Developed by Orfit’s R&D team, the latest offering completes the OrfitransÒ product range of high melting temperature thermoplastic materials for the production of external prosthetic check sockets. The new Medium Soft version can be submitted to pressures of approximately 75 MPa (megapascal, equivalent to 750 bar) and is available in sheets of different sizes and thicknesses (5/16 in., 3/8 in., 1/2 in., 19/32 in.) depending on the patient’s physical condition.
