DMEPOS Retailer Certification

There is a potential gap in quality for retailers that are not billing Medicare and so are not required to attain CMS-approved DMEPOS accreditation. From the retailer perspective, this certification program helps standardize quality processes and services at a DMEPOS organization, ensuring safety for a provider’s customers. From the customer’s perspective, the certification enables them to make better choices when buying online or in the provider’s store. They see the Exemplary Provider Certification logo on a provider’s website or in their store window and feel secure that a provider’s processes have been certified by a nationally recognized third party.
