For the past 20 months, COVID-19 has impacted every corner of the HME industry, and that includes accreditation. Accrediting organizations have had to work with Medicare and HME providers to re-approach the accreditation process (during a renewal year, no less). What lessons have been learned?
In the current episode of the HME Business Podcast, José Domingos, the president and CEO of the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC), and Tim Safley, the program director for ACHC, discuss how the pandemic has affected accreditation for HME providers. Both guests explain how their company responded to the public health emergency, how that influenced CMS, and explore how they — and the industry — continue to learn and apply ongoing lessons learned during the pandemic.
