Julie Beck Joins Invacare Board of Directors

Financial executive with 30 years’ experience will service on the HME manufacturer’s Audit Committee and Nominating and Governance Committee.

Invacare Corp. has appointed Julie Beck, an executive with experience in manufacturing, industrial and consumer industries, to its Board of Directors, effective Sept. 18.

With 30 years’ experience, Beck — who is also a certified public accounting — currently serves as senior vice president and chief financial officer for petrochemical company NOVA Chemicals Corp. Other positions include work as CFO and as global vice president of supply chain and operational excellence at the mining and machinery business unit of Joy Global Inc.; various roles include CFO at Journal Register Company and Norwood Promotional Products Inc.; and financial positions for Temple-Inland Inc. and Rockwell Automation.

The current members of Invacare’s board unanimously appointed Beck after an extensive search conducted by an executive search firm. Beck will serve as a member of the company’s Audit Committee and its Nominating and Governance Committee.

“We have a strong, engaged board already, and Julie’s financial expertise and experience in companies and industries facing substantial transformation will be a good addition,” said Matt Monaghan, chairman, president and chief executive officer at Invacare. “Julie has proven to be a talented leader who will offer a fresh perspective about our company and the markets we serve.”

Beck’s appointment brings the number of Invacare directors to a total of nine, eight of whom are considered independent directors.
