Broda Launches Travrsa-LT Transport Wheelchair

Broda has a new answer for non-emergency medical transporting, designed with both patients and healthcare professionals in mind.

In a Sept. 5 announcement, Broda introduced the Travrsa-LT Transport Wheelchair, which the company described as “a groundbreaking solution tailored for Non-Emergency Medical Transport (NEMT) that offers enhanced comfort, safety, and reliability.”

The Travrsa-LT is designed to be used and operated by a single caregiver or healthcare professional, thus reducing the number of people needed to assist with transfers and transport. The new chair’s design also adjusts easily in the field, resulting in quicker patient transfers.

The adjustable chair features “inclusive” sizing and easily fits into conversion and transport vans. It can be accommodated by side- or rear-entry ramp vehicles.

In addition to being WC19 crash tested and compatible with popular WC18 systems, the Travrsa-LT features Broda’s Comfort Tension Seating, 20 degrees of infinitely adjustable tilt, removable arm supports, and adjustable/removable lateral shoulder supports. The elevating seat surface adjusts vertically with full recline: Raise/lower from 22.5 inches to 32 inches to match the heights of beds, chairs and other surfaces for easier transfers. A transfer board is a Travrsa-LT option.

To function in tight spaces, the Travrsa-LT pivots 90 degrees and “allows for smooth 360-depgree turns around a fixed point,” Broda said. The chair’s horizontal sliding movement provides “maximum maneuverability in vans and other tight spaces where you need it.”

“This wheelchair,” Broda added, “has the benefits of a stretcher or gurney while being much safer, more comfortable, and easier to use.”
