Medtrade East Wraps Its Return to an In-Person Event

This week marks the return to an in-person format for the annual industry expo and conference and attendees and exhibitors react. Plus: Video interview with Associate Show Director York Schwab.

Medtrade East wrapped its first in-person event for the annual industry expo and conference since 2019 and the first edition of the event under its new brand.

Associate Show Director York Schwab said the return to Atlanta was welcome indeed by both exhibitors and attendees at the trade show, which ran Oct. 18-20 at the Georgia World Congress Center.

“We’re back after a year off from the pandemic, and we’re so happy to be here,” he said midway through the final day of MedtradeEast. “I was just on the floor and conversations are happening. The feedback that we’ve gotten has been overwhelming that attendees are here to do business.”

And where that feedback is concerned, the response started coming in as early as the Oct. 18 evening Preview Night, a new feature for the show, which let attendees grab a drink and tour the expo in the evening after the educational sessions.

“There was quite a bit of excitement with a lot of people on the show floor during Preview Night,” said Kent Barnes, director of Marketing for TeamDME!

“Preview Night was good with a good variety of people,” said Matt Bettis, director of Marketing Programs for Brightree. “There was sharing of information, and people were there to talk business.”

Response from attendees to Medtrade East’s educational sessions was similarly upbeat:

“We’re looking to expand the wound care business,” said Jennifer Jacobellis of RA Fischer in Ventura, Calif. “I haven’t been to Medtrade since the March 2020 show in Las Vegas, and that show was good enough for us to say, ‘Let’s go to Medtrade East.’”

“This is my fourth time at Medtrade and I really enjoy the educational sessions. There is always new stuff to learn. It’s neat to see the new goodies on the Expo Floor,” said Donna Chailland of Accucare in Asheville, N.C.
