VGM Unveils Finalists For 2019 HME Woman of The Year Award

The winner, chosen from four finalists, will be announced at Medtrade in Atlanta next month.

Ahead of the Oct. 21-23 Medtrade conference in Atlanta, The VGM Group has revealed four finalists for its 2019 HME Woman of the Year award. The award, now in its fourth year, recognizes a woman in the industry who has made significant contributions throughout her career to her company, community and the broader HME landscape.

Selected by a committee of five HME professionals, including last year’s winner Georgie Blackburn, the finalists are Donna Cady, managing director of Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center; Deb Kalk, the CEO and president of Reliable Medical Supply; Leigh Ann Mathews, ATP, CRTS of Complete Care Stores; and Wendy Russalesi, the chief compliance officer at AdaptHealth.

“These women are determined advocates and leaders—serving our industry selflessly for years,” said Clint Geffert, president of VGM & Associates. “They exemplify the dedication and innovation required to have a positive impact not only on their business and coworkers, but also the customers and the communities they serve.”

The selection committee chose the finalists using criteria that included how the nominees have implemented new business processes, advocated on behalf of HME providers, improved the lives of patients and volunteered in their communities.

The winner will be announced at a special celebration during the annual Medtrade conference in Atlanta set to kick off on Oct. 21. You can learn more about the award and the selection process by clicking here.
