AAHomecare Hits Capitol Hill for H.R. 6641
AAHomecare leadership met with various lawmakers on behalf of legislation that would adjust reimbursements in former CBAs via a 90/10 blended rate.

Senior representatives of the
American Association for Homecare worked on Capitol Hill on Wednesday and Thursday this week to advance H.R. 6641, also known as The DMEPOS Relief Act of 2022.
Introduced into the House by Reps. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.) and Paul Tonko (D-N.Y.), H.R. 6641 would apply 90/10 blended Medicare reimbursement for items in the 13 product categories CMS did not award contracts for in Round 2021 of competitive bidding. The increased rates would apply to claims from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2023.
Tom Ryan, AAHomecare’s president and CEO, and Jay Witter, senior vice president of public policy for the association, worked to build support for the bill and also met with Rep. Mullin to discuss strategy for moving the bill forward.
