OPGA Names 2021 Woman of the Year

Orthotic Prosthetic Group of America selects Ashlie White for her career contributions to patients, her community and the O&P profession.

The Orthotic Prosthetic Group of America (OPGA), a division of VGM & Associates, has selected Ashlie White, the director of Health Policy and Strategic Alliances with the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (AOPA), as the 2021 O&P Woman of the Year.

“I am so honored to be the recipient of the OPGA O&P Woman of the Year Award!” said White, who was presented with the award during a special virtual event on Sept. 21. “This recognition is validation of the work I’ve done so far, but it’s also a reminder of the responsibility to continue pushing for advancements in the O&P profession and access to care for the patients we serve!”

White has worked and contributed to O&P in a very diverse and progressive manner over the last at least 13 years, educating, advocating, and voicing opinions that engage and encourage others to work together for the good of the O&P profession and patients, according to OPGA.

“I first met Ashlie at the 2015 lower limb LCD hearing in Baltimore,” OPGA President Todd Eagen said. “Since then, she has become a national leader for the O&P profession advocating for positive legislation. Ashlie has played a key role in recent congressional wins, and I couldn’t be happier that she has been recognized as this year’s O&P Woman of the Year.”

OPGA makes the O&P Woman of the Year award open to all women who work in the orthotic and prosthetic profession. A committee of four O&P professionals reviews nominations and selects finalists by considering the nominees’ contributions throughout their careers to patients, the community, and the O&P profession.
