Amramp, Homewatch CareGivers Unveil Home Access Service

To address increasing home access needs, access ramp maker Amramp and home health provider Homewatch CareGivers have joined to create HomeNest, a system of accessibility equipment and caregiving services allowing people to forgo nursing homes or assisted living facilities.

The two companies cited a recent AARP study that showed that 89 percent of homeowners over the age of 45 prefer to remain in their homes, yet 80 percent of the population will require special housing and care needs at some point as reason to create service. HomeNest will feature, a range of wheelchair ramps, lifts, commodes and showers to help clients maneuver about their own homes. Also, the service will provide specialized caregivers with specialized operational training on each apparatus so they can safely transfer clients from one location to another.

The HomeNest home access equipment can be installed in a matter of days and come with a customized care plan that might include administering medications, preparing meals and assisting with grooming and other daily tasks.

 “People want to remain in their own homes for as long as possible and the HomeNest system allows them to do just that,” said Amramp founder and president Julian Gordon. “Clients love it because they don’t have to uproot the lives they know and relocate to a nursing home or assisted care facility and their families love it because the system and the caregiver’s expertise ensures that their relative will be safe in the surrounding most familiar to them.”
