Briefly: The ISS Announces a Virtual 2024 Event; CBIC Gives a CBP Update

University of Pittsburgh Launches ISS:VPS

The University of Pittsburgh, which produces and hosts the International Seating Symposium (ISS) in odd-numbered years, has announced its first ISS: Virtual Professional Summit (VPS), scheduled for early 2024.

The two-day event (Feb. 7 and March 6) will feature educational presentations on seating and wheeled mobility, along with continuing education units, in an online format. Sessions will be recorded for on-demand viewing.

The University of Pittsburgh also announced the 2025 dates for the ISS: March 20-22, with pre-conference education taking place March 18-19. The ISS will again take place in Pittsburgh.

As recently as 2020, the ISS was hosted in even-numbered years in Vancouver, B.C., by the University of British Columbia (UBC) and Sunny Hills Health Centre for Children. In early 2021, UBC announced it was closing its Interprofessional Continuing Education division, which led to the cancelation of the ISS in even-numbered years.
