Registration Open for AAHomecare Virtual Legislative Conference

This September, home medical equipment industry advocates can meet with members of Congress and their staffs from the comfort and convenience of their own offices or homes.

The all-day virtual legislative conference, scheduled for Sept. 20, will be conducted via Zoom, and the American Association for Homecare (AAHomecare) is seeking to build on last year’s event, during which participants met with more than 240 Congressional offices.

In a June 28 event announcement, AAHomecare noted the 2022 conference resulted in industry advocates “sharing first-hand expertise on the value of HME products and services and paving the way for important policy wins, including preventing ruinous across-the-board PAYGO Medicare cuts, protecting post-PHE [public health emergency] access to respiratory therapy and CGMs, and continuing 75/25 blended rates in non-rural areas.”

This year, AAHomecare said meetings with legislators and their teams will focus on “initiatives to further extend non-CBA/non-rural relief, boost rates in former CBAs, and ensure that any new competitive bidding rounds will include hard-won improvements to the process our industry has fought for.”

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Eastern time, and on Sept. 14, AAHomecare will host a one-hour preparatory event to provide issue education, plus tips on tracking meetings and logging into Zoom.

AAHomecare members can register for $129; the non-member registration rate is $149.
