Jim Walsh Honored as 2022 Van Miller Homecare Champion

The American Association for Homecare’s Tom Ryan recognized the VGM Group Chairman at Tuesday’s AAHomecare Update, and offered additional words at the Stand Up for Homecare benefit.

The American Association for Homecare recognized VGM Group Chairman Jim Walsh as the 2022 Van Miller Homecare Champion at its annual AAHomecare Update on Tuesday morning during this week’s Medtrade East conference and expo.

The Van Miller Homecare Champion Award honors AAHomecare members who reflect the characteristics of Van Miller, past CEO and founder of the VGM Group. A co-founder of VGM, Walsh’s advocacy efforts on behalf of the industry included strong policy advocacy and working to get better vendor contracts and pricing for smaller HME providers.

Because Walsh was unable to attend, Jeremy Stolz, president of VGM & Associates, accepted the award on Walsh’s behalf during the AAHomecare Update. AAHomecare President and CEO Tom Ryan lauded Walsh for his efforts to ensure that VGM and AAHomecare worked in concert when it came to industry advocacy.

“Jim is a true champion,” Ryan said in later remarks during AAHomecare’s Stand Up for Homecare reception at the Ventanas rooftop lounge. “… He’s been ahead of the curve on so many issues impacting HME. … Like Van Miller, Jim has been a great friend and partner with AAHomecare.

“I wish Jim could be here today,” Ryan added. “I look forward to congratulating him in person and thanking him soon.”
