NHIA Hosting Home and Specialty Infusion Payor Summit

Aimed at representatives from payers, attendees of the inaugural event will learn from home and specialty infusion experts and executives about current and future opportunities and challenges facing the industry.

The National Home Infusion Association (NHIA) will hold its first-ever home and specialty infusion payor summit Nov. 2 in Dallas, Texas.

NHIA’s goal is to provide education and discuss industry trends to help commercial health insurance plans better leverage home infusion to lower the total cost of care.

The meeting will benefit leaders from commercial payors with responsibilities for benefit structure, network decisions, value-based programing, and specialty infusion policy. Attendees will hear from home and specialty infusion experts and executives about opportunities and challenges facing the industry today and into the future.

“NHIA is proud to facilitate discussions and education aimed at improving understanding of home and specialty infusion services and how they benefit health plans,” said Connie Sullivan, BSPharm, NHIA’s President and CEO. “Many payors already recognize the value of outpatient and home-based infusion therapy and that is reflected in their benefit design.

“Our goal with this summit is to deepen payors’ understanding of infusion services and share our vision for the future,” she continued, adding that infusion providers have “untapped potential” to support payors in providing a spectrum of value-based care choices to their customers.

“The summit is a bold new step for NHIA, but it’s an important way for the association to share information, generate discussion, and collaborate with the commercial payor community,” added NHIA Board Chair Tim Affeldt, PharmD.

There is no fee to attend, but attendees are responsible for their own travel arrangements and expenses. Breakfast and lunch are provided for meeting attendees. Space is limited and reserved on a first-come-first-served basis.
