Abilities Expo Returns In-Person This Month

The first of several regional in-person mobility and complex rehab events will take place June 25-27 at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center.

Complex rehab and mobility user event Abilities Expo returns to an in-person format this year in Chicago, Houston, Phoenix, Toronto, New York, Los Angeles and Dallas.

The first Abilities Expo of the year will kick off at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center in Schaumburg, Ill. on June 25-27. The other regional events are slated for:

Houston Expo, Aug. 6-8
Phoenix Expo, Sept. 10-12
New York Metro Expo, Oct. 1-3
Los Angeles Expo, Oct. 29-31
Toronto Expo, Nov. 12-13
Dallas Expo, Dec. 3-5,
Miami Expo, November 2022

A statement from the event said the safety of attendees, exhibitors, staff and contractors is the top priority. All the events aim to provide a safe and non-threatening environment that adheres to the safety procedures dictated by the CDC, state, city and venues in which the events take place.

“Each regional Abilities Expo provides exhibitors the unique opportunity to interact with existing clients and prospective clients in a ‘hands-on; face-to-face’ environment that celebrates the disability community,” Abilities Expo CEO David Korse. “Post-pandemic, there is a definitive value to ‘experiencing’ these valuable products and services in ways that digital options cannot hope to achieve. Our community is actively seeking ways to reconnect in a supportive environment after a year of limited social contact.”

In addition to showcasing a variety of products, services and technologies on the expo floor, each regional weekend event includes interactive events, workshops, and activities.

“We offer something for everyone in our content schedules—from workshops on travel or cannabis to events encouraging everyone to dance, play sports or stretch out those tired muscles,” said Christine Selinger, director of Education and Events. “Our schedule for each show is packed with new information and things to try.”
