Pride Releases Go Chair MED Power Chair

Group 2 Portable keeps users active and outside the home while offering features that ensure it is coded for reimbursement.

Pride Mobility Products has unveiled the Go Chair MED Power Chair, a Group 2 Portable with a svelte footprint similar to the company’s Go Chair, and features that help users stay on the go.

“Medicare and most third-party insurers will only pay for a mobility device to be used in the home,” said Ray Wandel, director of Jazzy and Retail Mobility Management for Pride. “This is a sticking point for consumers who live busy, active lifestyles outside the home. They needed a portable power chair that is easy to transport and one that insurers will cover. Enter the Go Chair MED.”

Unlike its retail cousin, the Go Chair, the Go Chair MED is HCPCS coded as K0821. It is based on a compact design with a tight turning radius, and the chair features anti-tips on the front tires so that the unit can climb to 40 millimeters, a K0821 requirement.

The chair can be easily disassembled in just a few steps, and the Go Chair MED offers two seating options, so users can select the ideal seat size for them.
