NCART Surveying CRT Providers on Medicaid Trends

The data collected will help CRT and HME organizations identify where to focus their advocacy efforts surrounding Medicaid programs.

As part of a joint project with the American Association for Homecare and U.S. Rehab, the National Coalition for Assistive and Rehab Technology (NCART) is conducting a survey to evaluate trends in state Medicaid policies affecting complex rehab and technology (CRT) providers.

The 2020 Medicaid CRT Survey seeks to understand the landscape of state Medicaid programs and identify issue areas for CRT providers, according to Don Clayback, NCART’s executive director.

“The data collected will enable us to examine the status and trends within state Medicaid programs and identify where advocacy action may be required,” Clayback wrote in his announcement.

Specific questions include if a company’s state Medicaid program covers power wheelchair seat elevation or stand-alone standing devices, and if the state differentiates CRT items from DME items. The survey also asks providers if they have had problems with Medicaid Managed Care Organizations, along with questions concerning payment rules and sales tax.

Submissions are due by Friday, Jan. 31. Companies that operate in more than one state should complete a separate survey for each.
